​Upon visiting the CTA Welcome Pass site, people can purchase their Welcome Pass prior to their visit to the city. 

Along with receiving their Welcome Pass in the mail, patrons will receive a CTA survival kit to aid them in their travels when they arrive to Chicago. 

​After receiving the pass, patrons can download the Welcome Pass app and sync their card to it. The pass functions much like a Chicago Plus Card crossed with a 3-Day Pass; the difference being that as the traveler uses the card, he/she accumulates points. These points can then be used, in collaboration with local businesses, to obtain discounts at places off the typical beaten path of a Chicago tourist. All of the user’s Welcome Pass statistics can be managed via the Welcome Pass phone application.
